About H. D. (Hal) Willard
I was born on 28 March 1937 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. My family moved to the State of Washington in 1940, settling in an Eastern Washington apple ranch area named Naches Heights. The closest town was Cowiche, Washington. I had one sister. She and I attended the Highland School District and Graduated from Highland High School. Upon graduation from High School I joined the U.S. Coast Guard serving 4 years active duty, mostly on the Pacific Coast. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, I attended College for about two years. I was employed in the Transportation Industry, NP Railroad and Consolidated Freightways. I rejoined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1973 in the Active Reserve Program. My last job before I retired in 1998, was with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, where I was an auditor in the Real Estate Department, Seattle, Washington. I retired with a total of 32 years in the U. S. Coast Guard. My hobbies, are traveling, fishing and golf. I have two VERY SPECIAL DAUGHTERS who live in Seattle, WA. I try to visit whenever I can. We moved to Germantown, Ohio in 2005 to be closer to my wifes parents. My wifes father Billy Schultz was born and raised in Germantown, Ohio, her mother Donna Morter was born and raised in W. Carrollton, Ohio. Karen, my wife, was also born and raised in W. Carrollton. This part of the country is quite different than Washington State, but we are adapting. Thank you for visiting our BLOG.
