Dr. Rudy says “Dreams Do Come True”

June 22, 2008

Dr. Rudy and his wife Colette Mejia and Rudy’s brother German Mejia and his wife Patsy, Celebrated the GRAND OPENING of a Brazilian style restaurant right in the center of Germantown on the SE Corner of Main and Center Streets.  “RUDY’S CHURRASCARIA”.  On opening day, 21 June 2008 there were lots of people waiting in line to get into the restaurant, but everyone got in without much of a wait and all appeared to be enjoying the delicious Brazilian food.  The restaurant has a main dining area and also a Sports bar, see picture above.  Rudy said the Brazilian style skewered meats with pineapple and chicken are cooked very slow.  The dining area resembles a courtyard with a tree and branches reaching up to the high ceiling.  See above picture.  The other pictures above show historic pictures of Germantown.
Along with the “Steak House” dining room, the “Sports Bar” will offer Cheeseburgers, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, Salads, etc.
The staff of Rudy and German’s Restaurant are local people.
German (Rudy’s Brother) is one of three chefs.  German said his wife will be making the desserts, including special cakes and pies.
Rudy said the Opera House  ballroom upstairs can be used to cater for groups up to 300 people.  He said he also has a “private” dining room in the back that can be reserved for groups of 10-30 people.
Dr. Rudy purchased the Township Hall and Opera House which was originally built in 1872, from a local attorney.  Rudy feels this building and its history is the most significant building in Germantown.  The main floor of the building was used for the Village offices, post office, a bank, a smokery, a jewelry store, Dayton Power and Light office, lawyers offices, restaurants and bars down through the years.  The second floor was added in about 1873.  This floor has been used for various functions in the 1920’s and 1960’s.
Dr. Rudy said his family has been involved with restaurants and restaurant ownership for a long time.

He said “It is a dream come true to have a business together with my brother”.

Dr. Rudy, his brother and entire family welcomes the entire community and others to the new restaurant.  Everyone should enjoy the menu.  Rudy says he owes a lot of thanks to a lot of people who helped him with his dream and he especially wanted to thank, his wife, Colette, and his children for all their help.
The Restaurant will be open for business Monday – Saturday from 3PM until 6PM for Specials, and 6PM to 10PM for dinner.  The Sports Bar will serve food until 11PM and will remain open until 1:30AM.
You really should check out RUDY’S CHURRASCARIA.

Hope to see you there.
